SKY ROCKET –EJECTION SEAT

The SKY ROCKET –ejection seat shoots the person into the sky up to a height of 70 metres at a speed over one hundred kilometres per hour. The acceleration is about 5 Gs, which exceeds even that of Formula 1 cars. The participant is strapped to the seat with four-point safety belts. The rubber catapult shoots the participant up, and gravity pulls him/her back down. In a few moments this bouncing decreases and the pulse stabilizes.

SKY ROCKET is a novelty in Finland, having however gained extensive popularity in the USA, etc. The equipment is well-designed, taking into consideration different aspects of the sport and has been officially tested. SKY ROCKET consists of an ejection seat, a launch platform and two hoists located on both sides. The hoists tighten the bungee ropes, which are attached to the sides of the seat, until they are sufficiently stretched. The seat is then ready to be shot in the air.
